COVID-19 & Black Lives Matter

Our first contest, Issue 07: Chimera, publishes during a turbulent time in our society. 2020 has already created a strange, strange land with the coronavirus pandemic. We cannot express enough our appreciation for the essential workers who have been keeping us all afloat while we navigate this health crisis. Now, as we enter the second half of the year, focus also intensifies on the continued fight for the safety of those whom are systemically brutalized. Our appreciation also goes out to everyone protesting and working to enact lasting change.

While we hope Chimera helps you take a breath for yourself, we also want to do more than offer a reprieve. Our contest awarded a total of $125 in prize money between our three talented finalists, so Blood Tree Literature has matched that amount in donations to the Center for Disaster Philanthropy and the Black Lives Matter movement.
